Description
Peony
Salmon and rose flirt with morning dew.
You rise, head hung low, in this,
The heavy sun of May.
Each tuft of pink sensuality
Littered by the scurrying ants.
Noon peaks with the screaming sun.
You unfurl your perfumed fist.
Haughty,
Regal.
For this you will die.
Poem by Erica Scarpa
I have been waiting for these beauties to flower in my garden..I have 3 different species..they have the most gorgeous floral, heady fragrance...it is a pity that they stay in bloom for a short period of time but never the less I always wait for their show with anticipation!
