Description
In a sense, one could speak of the secret life of colour. Despite its outward beckoning, like true beauty, colour is immensely hesitant in giving away its secrets. Painters learn to respect the hesitancy of colour and endeavour to refine their skill to become worthy of its revelations. A painter learns the language of colour slowly.
As with any language, you struggle for a long time outside the language. There is a willed deliberateness to how you sequence the strange words to make a sentence. Then one day the language lets you into where the words dance to your thoughts with ease and fluency. Perhaps for the painter, there is a day when colour lets him in, when his palette sings with synergy and delight.
Inspired by words written by ― John O'Donohue
The design is based on my acrylic on canvas painting with digital enhancements and textures applied.

Oh, Jane..I do know what you mean re: images are not showing how they should - sometimes..another little glitch that we became to be so familiar with lol I am glad you were able to see it in full format, though. You made very interesting points about colour...how we view it..and when we really SEE them - I do know what you expressed...and as you know...I adore colour exuberance..it gives me energy and hopefully I pass this on to the viewer too. Thank you so much..I so appreciate your kindness and always treasure your commentary :)

Hello Jolanta, It is so very good to hear from you. Your gallery is looking amazingly vibrant and full of new and exciting works! And I was about to say that I would have to return to comment fully because when I clicked on each image, I just got a blank apart from the comment boxes! It is happening to me too! But then suddenly your magnificent art work flashed into full view! I just love not only this wonderful work and message but the writing about color also. I agree so much about the slow process. I would say that I did not even begin to really SEE color till I was 32 years old. I mean "see" it in the way that it left me in moments of ecstacy and wonder. Same with light! Just adore the way you SEE and INTERPRET. Great works always from you and sorry that I'm a rare visitor as I struggle to keep up here. L/F

Superb Jolanta! I love how this strong lapis lazuri background holds the other colours in a well ballanced composition. Your work's rich and strong colours remind mi of the Ancients' pigments used only on the products of the highest value.

This elegantly symmetrical luxuriant kaleidoscopic exploration conveys the beautiful forms and energies of the microscopic world, Jolanta.
